Good read. I did not enjoy as much as the other books in the series. “Storm Child” felt rushed and was not as engaging. It was good to finally know Evie’S story.

Although Storm Child is the fourth book in the series, it works well as a standalone, just as the author suggests. The novel is divided into two parts—Book One provides rich backstory and details, while Book Two delivers the suspenseful unraveling of the crime. It’s a slow burn, but one that builds to a satisfying climax.

I found it hard to put down and am now eager to explore the rest of the series. Cyrus and Evie are such compelling characters, each with tragic yet fascinating pasts, and I’m excited to learn more about them. Some details felt out of context, redundant, or repetitive. This might be due to the fact that I haven’t read the previous three books, but at times, I felt certain information was overexplained. Overall, it’s a gripping read, and I look forward to diving deeper into Robotham’s world.

I feel fairly certain this is the last one and I am so sad about that. I love Evie’s strength and attitude, and I love Cyrus’s relationship with her. I do think the mystery man was clear relatively early but I don’t even care. Like it’s a suspense mystery but it’s really about the characters.
