It didnt make me cry but it was definitely written well as a young adult book. It could have gotten deeper and everything. It was easy to get through. Wouldnt read it again probs but im not mad that i did. I like reading some easy books that arent a big weight on your emotions and stuff every so often. Im hoping the sequel is better!

I really like this book! It reminded me of “How to make friend with the dark” and I loved that book! The ending had me wishing for more and I’m really excited to read the second book. I almost cried while reading the ending. This book was really beautiful written. I only didn’t rate it a five stars because sometimes I felt she would tell some uninteresting stories from her past which I just wanted to skim over but then the stories would have a point for being told but sometimes I felt like skimming a couple paragraphs.

2017
I loved the characters in this book. I loved how fast paced the story was (which is probably why there's only 25 hours between the time I started reading it and the time I finished it). I loved the times that marked how much progress (or lack thereof) Mia had made in regards to her decision to stay alive or not. I loved how conflicted she was about it because it felt real. I really felt for her. I loved how the integration of background information never felt forced. I loved how the story line flowed. I loved the ending because it allowed the readers to come up with their own conclusions of what happened next in Mia's life. I loved it. 10/10 would recommend.

2024
i was deeply moved by this story. i wish the book was longer. i was rooting for mia and hoping she would find one reasons to stay when she had so many to not. i appreciate all the side characters, i read the author doesn’t have any favs and neither do i. everyone in this story was special in their own way. i 100% agree with my previous review!!

If you took the premise of this book and used it in fanfiction about characters I know and care about, I'd probably love the fic. Probably cry a lot too. It's an interesting idea.

As it is, I didn't care about any of the characters in the beginning and nothing that happened throughout changed that. It was boring. Like it legit is a clips episode of a tv show. There's technically things happening in the forefront, but the majority is random flashbacks. Nonchronological, disjointed little clips. Presented thus, there's no character development, no plot. Just....a lot lot lot of exposition.

So, at least it was short.

(Also, the narrator of the audiobook mispronounced several words including "sudoku")
