Absolutely adored this story. This author has a great way of involving heavy and serious topics into fun and flirty summer romances. My only true complaint is that I could have used 100 extra pages. The start was slow for the build up but then when we got to the good stuff I wanted wayyyy more. I can’t wait to read the third book of the series!!

I’m so grateful that this book was my first ARC read!!! As a university student who just started semester, it’s been tough to pick up a book and be motivated to read. But… this book

The Summer Break is the sequel to The Ohana Cottage. This time, Mia’s best friend, Paige is the one who finds herself falling for someone while visiting Hawaii. I enjoyed the romance between Paige and a local bartender much more than Mia and John’s story. There was more banter (which I LOVE) and the relationship developed much more naturally. I truly thought that I was going to rate this title five-stars until the ending. Without giving anything away, a lot happens in the last few chapters of this book. I had reader’s whiplash and just wish that the story itself was more evenly paced. I probably will read the third book in this series once it is released this spring.

super cute and quick read!
friends to lovers. forced proximity. closed door romance. what more can you ask for?! maybe more spice. haha. but it was a sweet and funny read nonetheless.

This book was so sweet! I think it was a really great follow up to The Ohana Cottage!

I actually loved how much Matt was infatuated with Paige. He knew he didn’t REALLY have a shot with her, but he still held out hope. The slow burn was good in this book. Paige knew she was going home eventually, so she didn’t want to start anything. But of course she was weakened by Matt’s charm!

They really went from 0 to 100! I loved seeing Paige find her place tutoring the kids over the summer, then eventually finding a way to really help Elliot. Matt’s news at the end really surprised me! But of course, he took in stride. And together he and Paige made the best of their situation!

I loved Matt’s sisters! I hope we get to see more of them in future books maybe?! I would love nothing more than to see Matt be in their business as much as they are in his!

I was honestly so nervous when John’s sister came back and took Paige’s place in their house. I was scared that she wasn’t going to get any time with Mia, which was the whole reason she came to Hawaii. And Paige is a much better person that me, because she was more than happy to find a new place to stay for her summer break!

And Megan wrote another WONDERFUL epilogue. I loved every single second! And while I was pretty much able to predict most of the things that happened, it almost made it better?! Cause if anything else had happened I would have been so disappointed.

Thank you so much to Megan Reinking for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

I loved this! It was fun at the start, then so sweet and emotional.

It was great seeing Matt and Paige after getting to know a little about them and their interactions in the first book, and it just got better in this one.

I loved seeing them knowing each other better, Matt showing interest in Paige and wanting her to know he wasn't just a flirt and her reluctant in starting something when she was only there for the summer, but not resisting in giving this a shot after knowing the real Matt.

Close to end, the book got an unexpected turn, that got us to the sweet and emotional part of the story and I absolutely loved it! This part came to show how they could handle things together, how mature and loving Matt is, how caring and loving Paige is and what truly matters for her. It was such a great surprise that I loved how it all turned out for them.
I loved the glimpse we got from their future!
