I'm not a huge fan of the bully romance trope, but this one was fairly cute. Plus it was a short read for the season, which was a great add on.

Ten years after graduating high school, former queen bee Melissa is still waiting tables and living at home. Thanks to her parents' financial crisis and untimely death, plus needing to care for her younger siblings, she's been forced to put her dreams aside. Meanwhile, Tucker, the nerdy new kid she rejected in high school, has made it big as a country music star - thanks to the song he wrote gloating over Melissa's romantic failures. When Tucker returns to town for the holidays, Melissa knows she has to steer clear of her nemesis - but Tucker, and fate, have other ideas.
I liked the storyline of this novel. Both characters had great backstories, and because they were hometown enemies, the story was nicely grounded in family and history. But, at just over 200 pages, it was too short! Another hundred pages could have gone a long way toward developing the characters' relationship in the middle section, as well as showing their personalities more thoroughly. As it was, I didn't feel invested in the romance (which is kind of the point of a romance novel!) and the inevitable third-act obstacles felt more like annoyances than betrayals. Still, the ending was very sweet, and it genuinely felt like both characters were better off together than they'd been apart.
Cute dual-POV rom com with a side of Christmas cheer. 3.5 stars.

***Audiobook Version***
This is my first book from this author and I am very pleased. It has been a enjoyed journey with these characters, I laughed to tears and cried during some sad scenes. Truly the narrators done a spectacular job with all these characters. I am interested to explore more books by this author, I would definitely recommend this audiobook.

Sweet and lighthearted Christmas time story with characters working through emotional pasts. I enjoyed their main character’s banter and personal growth as they worked through their own issues. Clean, faith included story.

Humorous
I have loved Cece Louise’s other books, but this one isn’t my cup of tea. It definitely has humor in it and the writing was engaging and good. It’s just that while clean, it wasn’t squeaky enough for me. There were too many casual kissing scenes and references and several uses of the word “sexy.” There were also several instances of making you think of a swear word. While humourous, I tend not to prefer that.
I know I’m an anomaly in today’s world, so if you have no problem with multiple girlfriends or boyfriends and kissing them all, then you won’t have an issue with this book, and will probably love it.
4 stars because I love this author, and it really is well-written, just not for me. I did receive a complimentary early copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Wow not sure how I missed reviewing this book.
A great clean rom com and I find myself laughing at some of the things that came out of Melissa's mouth. The characters are wonderful, and the story brings me back to the small town I grew up in where everyone knows your business.
Melissa and Tucker had some hurdles to get over. Especially when Tucker wrote a song, which hit the number one charts, about Melissa which humiliated her. But some things work out for the best. A clean story with some laughs and tears. I really enjoyed the book. My first by Cece Louise and hopefully not my last.
Highly recommend
