Piccadilly Jim is the probably the very first 20th century comedy I've ever read. I wanted a break from the high-fantasy books I usually read. And I think it perfectly served its, personally, intended purpose.

Maybe I will return to Wodehouse, or just historical-ish comedy fiction some time in the future. But I don't think it's my cup of tea for right now. While I did laugh, I was both occasionally confused and uninterested in the plot progression. It's redeeming quality was that it's a quick read; one day-er. Maybe I should try more of these, but in it's audio version.

Entertaining as always. However I felt that the plot took a while to establish itself, and it spiraled down again very quickly. The plot was satisfying in itself, though.

Not as even as "Damsel in Distress", but laugh-out-loud funnier in parts.

Wodehouse seemed to me to strike a deeper, more serious note here, despite the persistence of clever comedy. Jimmy's heel face turn when he decides to evaluate his life is refreshing, and the layers of pretence in the Prett household reach delightfully epic proportions. Only Wodehouse can unravel it all in his witty, captivating style!

It's funny!

The plot, the dialogue, the ending. This book is hilarious. I don't know how.I found it but I thought it'd.be dry and stuffy. Wrong!
