It was just. so. boring. It only earned two stars because one star is reserved for books I can't bring myself to finish. If I was reading this in English I may have stopped, but I was determined to finish it since I read a Spanish translation.

This was my favorite of his books. A love fable to capture your heart.

This book is magical, to say the least. I didn't know what to expect, having only read one other Coelho novel years ago. To find that it was about the feminine aspect of God surprised me a bit, and I honestly wasn't sure how I would feel about the story in the end. Now that I've finished it, I'm so inspired by the questions it raised; inspired to examine my own spirituality and to continue to ask the questions and seek the answers that I need to bring me closer to God. Yes, I'm a believer, but I feel that even non-believers will have the same questions I did after reading this story. Something along the lines of "Well, if this...then that?" or simply "What if?" The book really tells about a journey one woman has to find love and to rekindle her faith. I'm still wondering whether having found her faith and love through a man and not through God is a good or bad thing. So much is left to interpretation, and I've never read a book that made me want to actually go out and do something or learn more about myself and my own journey through life. It truly is a must read, and one that I don't think I'll ever forget.
