Follows some of the same characters as previous books. It was good but not one of his better ones.

Marshall Karp is a keeper. I read a lot of J. Patterson books, not all are great but this series is entertaining.

Reasonable story for the newer Patterson Inc books although the characters in this series especially Kylie are really aggravating. The whole love tension thing is just not working and unrealistic and they need to get over it and even better get rid of the Kylie character and replace her with someone else.
Why is it if a male and female character are partnered there is always this tension about a relationship, if there were two blokes partnered there would never be this ridiculous sub-plot about a relationship. When we can have two people working in a professional relationship without the sexual tension sub pot the book world will be a better place, but don't hold your breath for Patterson world to ever go that way.

It's pretty hard for me to give a Patterson book two stars, but I just couldn't get into this one. I thought about quitting after the first chapter's too-explicit description of autoerotic asphyxiation. I got halfway through and realized I didn't care and was trying to just "get through" this book so I could get on to something better. So I quit. Perhaps if I'd stuck to the end I would have given it more stars, but I just didn't like it enough to get there.
