Found this book while on vacation after finishing a couple of other books. New author for me. Once started I couldn't put it down. Have since gone to bookstore to pick up others of his. An excellent author.

Another great Greg Iles book! The scheme is pretty complicated, and I think the scope of the government’s involvement wasn’t explored enough. Apparently, the good guys didn’t care who sent the helicopter for the bad guy in the end. I also wish he’d explained how some of the non-cancer deaths were caused, like Grace’s. But overall, it’s a great suspenseful novel.

I listened to this book on audio and it was hard to stop listening. I normally listen when I drive and as I got closer to the end I wanted to keep driving. Almost from the beginning, you know who was plotting the murders and how they were done. The only thing missing was proof.
How do you prove that someone was killing by cancer - it was almost foolproof unless you get between an FBI agent and her dead sister's son.
Greg Iles does an amazing job of keeping his readers engaged. You can't put the story down because you NEED to know how it will end. The ending is particularly satisfying and well worth the wait to get there.
The narration on the audio book was great. A good narrator helps the story come to live and in this case he outdid himself in the reading.

I haven't read a Greg Iles book in so long! He's still just as good at keeping me reading, with weird thriller plots involving rogue FBI agents and tired doctors, all taking place in the charming yet apparently crime-ridden town of Natchez, Mississippi. While the plot was a little farfetched in this one for my liking, I enjoyed the cameos from certain characters in his other books.
