• i feel like i wasn't meant to enjoy this so much but it was such easy reading and so full of cute angsty cliches i just couldn't help it
• i now want to date an f1 driver
• is the writing and plot award winning and new and innovative? absolutely not. did it still make me feel very strong feelings and fall in love with hot tall blue eyed men? absolutely yes.
• i am literally in love with noah slade i want one
• i also want a santiago alatorre
• it's literally like reading angsty fanfiction which makes it amazing that is all
• that accident scene had me EMOTIONAL
• professional mmc taking the fmc on an immersive tour of his job/to do something that he loves professionally is a new fave trope

TWs: domestic abuse, ref to child abuse, toxic family, physical violence, alcohol consumption, car accidents, fire, sexism, ref to groping/sexual harassment, vomiting

Tropes/themes: brother's rival, f1 racer x vlogger, i see how he looks at you, reformed playboy, strained family relationships, travelling the world, forbidden romance, hidden relationship

2.5

originally: 4/5(it’s a glorified four. more like a 3)
reread: 2.5/5

  • there was a lot of underlying misogyny—from maya and the other characters—which was a letdown.
  • santiago was a hot/cold character who pissed me off bc he overestimated maya’s naivety despite her only being a year younger than him. he acted really fucking entitled and selfish the entire time but had some cute/humorous moments to cover up his asshole-ness
  • there was a lot wrong with noah, but he had really good (tadbit rushed and poorly represented) development.
  • the spice wasn’t bad, but it was all smooshed in the second third of the book and it was just innuendos after that (which i didn’t mind but the sex was a bit excessive).
  • i don’t have any interest to read any of the other books in this series, it just didn’t feel like one of those books; yk?
  • the ending felt rushed and unsatisfactory compared to the rest of the book
  • i loved mayas development and how she stopped taking shit from her brother (aka she stood up for herself one time after her brothers’ 30’000 atrocities)
  • kinda bland but it was a fun read.
  •  i remember thinking (in the beginning) how i was thinking abt how slow the book was, only to be super rushed to finish
  • the way the chapters cut off kinda threw me for a loop but it was bareable ig?
  • THE DANCING SCENE !!!!!!!
  • but the misogyny was NOT it 👎👎👎

The relationship between the two main characters relied a ton on smut and not so much on actual relationship building. The story wasn’t bad but I do think it could’ve been stronger.

3.5

3,5 this was good. I honestly didn’t think I would like it as much as I did and tbh I hope Santi is the lead for one of the other books. Some parts were annoying. It meh overall it was a good read.

Noah was so hot after he went to therapy🤪🤪
