4.25

A very strong 4.25, I actually really liked the main characters and there relationship surprisingly was really healthy and sweet (also this is not erotica idk why its classed as that). I probably won't read the next book cause I really didn't like Sophie or Liam that much in this one to read from there pov and relationship but I may read jaxs book cause I quite liked him.

1.5

that .5 was extremely generous of me

basically an f1 fanfic (my bet is on verstappen personally, also try to tell me jax isn't literally lewis lol) featuring sincerely atrocious writing, the blandest characters on earth, small mistakes regarding how f1 works sprinkled everywhere (which, as a chronic f1 fan and someone who pays close attention to details, it killed me) and the cheesiest, cringiest 50 pages to finish it off

i'm surprised i managed to get through it tbh i was fighting for my life to not dnf it around the 60% mark

the silly season wasn't silly enough this year to keep me entertaining and this is what happened 😭 but at least the summer break is almost over and good ol' f1 will be back soon, amen

also, nsfw:
is it normal for someone to get as many boners as this man did. like are we sure he doesn't need to see a doctor or smth. the only time in the book where he doesn't have a boner is the epilogue. i'm concerned

I haven’t had very high expectations going in, but somehow this book really catched me. I’m a very slow reader, but read this on one day, which happened years ago the last time. Reading this made so much fun. Finally it is not an arrogant, overly jealous, socially weird and awkward and most times toxic Loveinterest. I wasn’t a fan of books like the fine print for exactly this reason. (No offence to fans of that. Just not my thing) This was so different from that. Loved it. I had lost hope to find a romance book like this again, since I felt like every book is like the descriptions above.

This book made me regret I ever picked up reading as a hobby.

The biggest gripe I have with sports romances is that so often, the sport itself does not matter. And it shows in this novel. If it is set in a certain universe, make sue to at least get the basics down before you write a terrible self-insert about some misogynist pig of a racing driver who turns good boy because of a woman.

Nothing about this story is pleasant t0 read. The dialogue is far fetched and some sentences read like tumblr posts from 2013. The way the characters act is like caricatures of humans. The names of the characters are ridiculous. The writing itself is terrible - I had multiple moments where the characters changed locations and the author did not even bother to tell us that.

I can whole heartedly say that this is the worst book I have ever read. And if you rated this 5*, I genuinely worry for your taste in men.

The writing is beautiful. So easy to follow & read. Absolutely amazing story with a mixture of romance and F1. Love the inside take as there’s information about the pit crew and the drivers themselves. This book makes you feel like you’re actually behind the scenes at F1 events. Such a beautiful love story for the main characters. Absolutely LOVE this book

Lauren Asher never fails. I didn’t think I’d go for the whole bad-boy racer thing but damn if Throttled changed my mind.

I think Noah & Santi’s relationship could have been a bit more fleshed out. Also, someone who has been the vicitm of childhood and domestic violence does not get over it after a few weeks of therapy.

Please, this was so damn adorable. Noah is such a great mmc, he recognises (granted with a nudge) that he needs help with his feelings and seeks it for himself (& Maya by extenstion)

Really well written in my opinion and my fave mmc so far (its literally book one so this means nothing but it counts). Also love the closeness of Maya and her Brother including how supportive he is (and Noah) or Maya and her youtuber career.
