okay giving this book anything less than a 5 star rating would be a criminal offense.
Noah could literally run me over with his F1 race car at 200 miles a hour.. and i’d smile and say thank you. Honestly, the build up and the angst leading up to Noah and Maya openly acknowledging and acting on their undying love for one another was done so beautifully. I’ve never ever been into car racing but if all the men in those races are like noah fucking slade then sign me tf up cause wow.

Very enjoyable read! The reason for a 4 and not a 5 were a few underlying sexist remarks throughout the book, that rubbed me the wrong way. However, overall, it was a really cute book and I would recommend you read it☺️❤️

Throttled is the first book in the Dirty Air series. Maya Alatorre has just graduated from college and doesn’t know what she wants to do with her post-grad life. Her brother, Santiago, has just joined Bandeni, an elite F1 group of drivers. Maya joins him on the circuit filming vlog style videos of all the action. One of Santi’s new teammates is Noah Slade who is one of the best drivers in F1. He and Maya get off on the wrong foot (he mistakenly thinks that Maya and Santi are a couple rather than brother and sister). Towards the beginning of the book you learn that Noah grew up in a abusive household with very toxic parents. His romantic relationships (or lack there of), reflect his detachment. He and Maya eventually become closer, when their off the charts chemistry becomes undeniable. Noah starts going to therapy to unlearn some of the harmful things he learned about relationships from his parents. He and Maya eventually fall in love with each other, while traveling the world for F1.

This was a great start to an exciting sports romance series. I really appreciate the fact that Lauren Asher’s sports romance was about F1 rather than hockey or baseball, as is typical in romance. It was refreshing. Can’t wait to read the next book which is about Maya’s friend Sophie.
