Cute. Love how he fell head over hells for her. His willingness to be the best for her. Love how the author focussed on the sweet little things. He had his eyes on her since the beginning. Love how it captures everything in the epilogue.

solid 4 star read! throughly enjoyed the slow burn and loved how the book didn’t fall into too many cliche tropes (miscommunication, etc.)

I started this book forever ago and I don’t know why I didn’t finish it. Just reading it now and I’m glad I went back to it. I enjoyed this story and reading about racing as I never have before. Definitely will be continuing on in the series

I read this book because I had no clue what F1 was (lol). I liked the racing scenes surprisingly. But I hate to say that I didn't really like this book. The beginning was promising but the plot never really picks up speed (haha!) It just drudges on and on as we go through these repetitive chapters. There was no real dialogue that stuck out; maybe 1 or 2 chapters that I really enjoyed. I was disappointed but I kept reading with hopes that maybe the book would get better. So I read on, still hoping for something to change, but when I finally decided to just jump ship I was about 87% finished with the story so I decided to power through. It never really went into descriptive detail about... anything.

The story wasn't really memorable. The back and forth banter is enjoyable, but it is not enough to propel the story. This is a romance novel.. so obviously I expected some romance. Everything they did showed no true affection. Very surface level story telling. We don't see much of their relationship develop past them fucking a few times lol. There were times I expected Asher to really give us some good chapters.. The part where Noah interrupts the double date, that chapter could have been so much juicier but it just.. came and went. I definitely wanted more than what we had seen.

There were lots of times when there would be ample opportunity to show conflict and resolution but for some reason every issue that arose in their relationship was so rushed. Prime example was when Noah’s father threatens Santi’s contract. That is brought up in 1 chapter and then it’s resolved in literally the next chapter. This happens multiple times in the book (another time is when Santi finds out that Noah and Maya are together. That should have been a waaaay bigger plot point because the whole reason of them sneaking around is because of Maya not wanting Santi to find out!) This constant, repetitive lazy writing for the rising actions become so frustrating because the story never seems to swell with anticipation! It just seems like the storyline is being rattled off rather than actually built up.

Also it just seems for most of the book the interactions between Maya and Noah are them just sneaking around and having sex like. Girl OKAY we get it -_-

The ending was the best part. I also enjoyed the epilogue more than the actual book.
Overall my biggest gripe is how it feels so underbaked. The storyline never has a chance to mature. Everything just happens in the story, we forego the pacing and the build up, the anticipation and the excitement that throttles (ha) a reader into finishing the book. It just feels like words on a page. I was very dissatisfied with reading it because it felt as if it was never fully explored, the story just feels unfinished. And I come to find out that this author is the same author that wrote The Fine Print and I definitely see her writing style in this book. But somehow this one is worse. Nothing is ever really delved into and properly dissected- which made the reading (for me atleast) very boring.
