Beautiful illustrations. Cute Halloween reading for people who aren't into horror and gore.

I can sense this is a book that is supposed to be pretty, not informative. In that case, it is perfect. It sure is beautiful and I appreciate the minimalism.
And the surprises!

But.. as I like to learn new things I wish it had just a tad more to read. I think longer text would've looked good on each of the new monster introduction pages.

However, like I said it does what it's supposed to do: it pleases the eye, and invites you to find out more about these creatures. (Which I recommend, by the way)

I love monsters and folklore! This is a good source for finding out about types of monsters that maybe you've never heard of. I appreciate that it mentions what culture each monster originates from. I just wish that it had even more details about the creatures. However, this book is a good jumping-off point for initially learning about the monsters, so I can do further research on them later if I'd like. The only thing I didn't like about it was the drawings made all the monsters look really cutesy. I think having scarier illustrations would be more fitting to the content of the book.

She's cute (with brilliant illustrations). She's funny (and funnier with every page turn). This book is perfect.

This was beautiful and super cute! While some of these strike fear in your heart I couldn't help but love them all!
