This was my second Stefan Ahnhem book and to be honest, it wasn't as strong as the first one. For one, there were a bit too many characters and too many things happening at the same time and even though things came together in the end I had sometimes forgotten who was what and what he had been doing. I'd rather have fewer strings but with more twists and turns. It was also really frustrating that this book took place before the first book I had already read and as I didn't know that I was quite often confused in the beginning. I prefer it when books take place in the order they are written. That said, there were many really good things about this book and I was definitely never bored.

I must admit I didn’t enjoy Ninth Grave as much as Stefan Ahnem’s first book in the Fabian Risk series, The Man without a face. I found this a little too long and a bit convoluted. Overall a good read but far too plot driven for me and kind of like a thriller for the sake of it while trying to do justice to the shocking topic of organ harvesting. I’m a bit tired of Nordic crime thrillers that don’t delve into character and atmosphere. This one was a bit linear for me. I’ll try the next one but won’t be rushing to read it.

Es war einfach nur schlecht. Die Charaktere haben zum Teil Entscheidungen getroffen, die überhaupt nicht nachvollziehbar waren. Den 0,5 Stern gibt es nur, weil die Auflösung halbwegs gelungen war.
