Hanna’s Daughters , by Marianne Fredriksson, is a Literary Fiction about three generations of Swedish women, starting with Hanna in 1871. I picked up this book from Target early in January. I had just finished Pillar’s of the Earth, which I’d gobbled up entirely and was left wanting more. I decide this book with its historical epic link might fit the bill and satiate me until I could get home and do some research on my next book choice. Interesting. I most enjoyed the parts that were about Hanna, the oldest woman who grew up in early 1900's Sweden. This family seems to have bad luck/bad judgement with men. A thought provoking story.

Didn't know what to think of it and then, halfway through, I began to really enjoy listening to these women talking about their lives. You shouldn't read it too slowly, the similar names and times confused me a bit but once you're inside the story more and more dots connect and the last few pages left me smiling
