Was not my vibe! Maybe a little too intellectual for me. Seemed repetitive. Just wasn’t into it. But will try again later.

The Blind Owl is an incredibly dark, yet vivid depiction of inner turmoil, paranoia and utter depression.

From the beginning of this novel, we are faced with an unreliable narrator and their dark secret. The reader is plunged into the shoes of an opium addicted, would be artist. Though the art in question is far more sinister and troubling than the first-person narrator themself believes.

The reader is taken on a journey which explores, memory, time and trauma through the analytical framework of death. As a well written stream of consciousness, this twisted tale will remain routed in my subconscious for some time.
