The repeated imagery and metaphors are such a good device for this fractured narration. I'm not the first to say it but there are unreliable narrators and then there's this guy

I didn’t really get this. I had a general idea of what took place at the end, and I really liked the repeated imagery since it helped track the character’s progression into madness, but I have no idea what the narrative was about.

I very much want to try revisiting this after I’ve read some interpretations of it, and historically and culturally contextualized it

Loved the part 1 with all my heart and soul but the rest of the book wasn’t nearly as poetic and was just confusing. I enjoyed the explanation and thought it was a great inclusion to the book.

This is one of the most well-written novel I’ve ever read. It is also the most disorienting book I’ve read. I will never forget reading this.
