I am utterly obsessed with this book, I haven’t had a fantasy obsession like this since I reread Harry Potter as an adult.
I listened to this book in 3 days, I loved the way the story builds and the slow burn romance. The dragons were more than just side creatures, and full interesting characters.
This book made me excited to get back into fantasy this year.

I loved this book. It is the best book I've read for escapism in a long time. Think of all the YA books you read as a teen put together and you have Fourth Wing. Half a star knocked off for some parts which I found a bit cliché but a solid read and I really enjoyed it!

Just good clean trashy problematic fun? I don't know, I look forward to finishing the trilogy, but it's not what I would call a Good Book.

I read the physical book earlier in the year so when my friend group decided to read it for book club I decided to check out the audiobook. The story itself is great. The plot is exciting and each reveal gives me a surge of emotion. The characters are fantastic, even the side characters have quirks that give them their own personality. The dialog actually feels like they are a group of friends, they remind me of me and my friends sometimes.

Now on to the audiobook portion of the review:
I love the cast, for the most part. Xaden and Violet sound great, as do many of their friends. The only two characters I had a problem with were Mira and Tarin. Mira sounded robotic at times, there was only one spot where she sounded like an actual human and not Alexa. As for Tarin, I just imagined his voice being deeper. It would have been nice if Kaori and Tarin's voice actors were switched. I got used to Tarin though so it didn't bother me too much.

The sound effects are awesome. I could have lived without the sound of vomit, even thinking about it now makes me want to gag. I really liked it when the dragons chuffed, hearing the dragons exhale was fun for some reason. I don't know, I love dragons and this made it feel like they were real. I find that these added sound effects make it easier for me to pay attention to an audiobook. Normally I'll just space out and not know what happened but the sound effects tickle my brain in the right way.

Story: 5/5
Audiobook: 4.75/5
