I enjoyed Pieces of Her so I was excited to read this next installment of Andrea’s life.
I gave this a solid 3.5 stars (rounded to 4). I felt like it shouldn’t have taken nearly 400 pages to reach a resolution as it did have some slow parts. Also, it is never explained why Emily keeps losing time after finding out she was pregnant. She would snap out of the trance she’d been in and realize she lost 8 hours. Why? I had 3 pregnancies and never “lost” 8 hours of time. It happened to her multiple times. And then the perpetrator (person who SA’ed her) at the end claimed he slept with her multiple times. She supposedly only had one night that she blacked out. So what was he saying? Did she possibly go to him during those “lost” hours? Basically, some unexplained aspects there which is kind of annoying.
I don’t know about anyone else, but man was I angry for Emily basically the entire book. There’s being taken advantage of and then there’s what happened to Emily.
It was…a lot.
My favorite character was Bible.
Anyway, I really liked the window into the US Marshal service- and the parallel plots were interesting and compelling.

If it is any consolation.. I LOVED this book.. and didn’t even realize it was the second in the series until I was fully invested. And therefore, chose to not put it down. Was 100% a page turner. 10/10 would recommend.

This book is a sequel to Pieces of Her. Excellent psychological thriller. I definitely recommend reading pieces of her first and this second, do not read this before you read pieces of her there will be too many gaps that you’ll miss.
