This book was an incredibly fun read with characters I really cared for. I'm all about characters. If I don't care for the characters, I rarely care about the story. So it was great to get lost in an adventure with characters who felt like friends.

It had a great "grand adventure" feel I crave ever since I discovered Chronicles of Narnia and Lord of the Rings. Perfect escapism in a time when the whole world has gone a little crazy. As a debut novel, super impressive and definitely worth picking up!

This was delightful. It reminded me of the fantasy books I read as a kid (mostly Gail Carson Levine) but that’s not to say that it doesn’t add to the genre.

I really loved the world and the magic system that’s presented here and I’m excited to see where the characters go from here.
