This was Dean Atta, unlimited. A deep, reflective and personal journey into his past, looking back to his roots, and how they impacted his relationships with the world. How love strengthens, how love heals, and how its loss hurts. It truly was a collection of personal essays that had such heart to them, such powerful imagery, that not only showed a window into Atta’s mind but flung it wide open and firmly said, ‘this is where I am, who I am, and what I hope to be’. It takes real bravery to talk about that which you are most ashamed, that which you are still healing, even if speaking of it is an act of healing in itself. When the world makes us think we should be ashamed of how we chose to heal from things we can’t even name within ourselves, taking ownership and saying boldly that this does not define your worth is the ultimate form of self-love.
