Finished it in one day! I really enjoyed this book. I love the unreliable narrator, and I was suspicious of multiple different characters throughout the book. Even on the last page, I still felt like I wasn't getting the full story. Definitely a really solid thriller coming from an author who had never written something like this before!

Wow, I hated this. I powered through so I could talk about it at book club, but I found every single character repellant and the twists lame. Similar to The Housemaid, I felt like there was strange glossing over of domestic violence and sexual violence for most of the book.

I love a no nonsense women. The main character of this is so incredible and witty and funny. I loved her. This story is so great but Lucy really makes this book so good.

This is a thriller with a lot of morally gray characters and a lot of twists, but my main emotions while reading this was amused. Because while this was twisty and kept me interested, it also kept me so entertained. Our narrator, Lucy, is such a fun voice to tell this story through. Her voice and perspective and dry humor/sarcasm made me laugh out loud at times, but it also kept things very real. And the tone of the story shifts from amusing to self-protective and guarded even at the beginning. Such a unique voice for this story.

This was a really fun thriller. It kept me guessing throughout, and I loved the many snippets of truth in it. But this also shocked me… I usually don’t enjoy stories with such morally ambiguous characters, but I loved this.

If you’re looking for a twisty thriller with a unique and sarcastic narrator and morally gray characters, this is for you.
