Dancing Girls and Giving Birth were my favorites.

I would NOT recommend this. I loved The Handmaid's Tale, yet I really struggled with this book. A collection of short stories, some were OK, others terrible. This was so bad, I hesitate to try other work by Atwood. I'll probably give another novel a try, but not for a long while.

This collection is definitely a product of its time but to be honest I loved it all

I love Margaret Atwood and these are powerful stories. However, I wonder how she feels about these stories now. These date from the 70s (ish) and in some respects are quite dated. However, she's a master at a short story - these pack a powerful punch.

Margaret Atwood is one of those rare authors who is equally gifted at novels and short stories.
This collection is artfully strung together, one tale pulling you into the next, making these disparate adventures flow seamlessly along , a complete world of drizzle and secrets and unspoken dreams. She is absolutely wonderful.

This collection is some of the first Margaret Atwood that I had to struggle to finish.
