My reaction to this book is about the same as that to the first three: it's a great book to get engrossed in for a couple of hours and then it's done. The main character is just fun to love and I always want things to work out for her.

2024: reread this in a day!! sooo happy i decided to revisit this old fav series

Sophie Kinsella is probably my favorite easy-read author. Her books are clever and touching. They make you evaluate your own lifestyle but you hardy realize it because it's such a fun and easy read.

In this, the fourth installment, int the Becky Brandon (Nee Bloomwood) Shopaholic Series, we join Becky and Luke at the tail end of their "around the world honeymoon." Becky is mastering Yoga and Luke is as relaxed as ever. As a reader I started to think that my friends had changed - maybe this would be a good thing!
Before long, Becky and Luke decide to return to reality and it is very apparent that neither of them really changed, they were just on a holiday from real life!
On suprize return to london, Becky finds Suze has a new best friend and her parents are acting very strange. Maybe the suprize part was not the best idea. Quickly, Luke is fully emersed back into his work and his old 'work obsessed' ways, Suze and Becky are drifting apart now that Suze is the mother of three, and Becky's parents lay on the biggest shocket - Becky has a long lost sister, from a relationship her father had prior to meeting her mother.
This the the wonderfully well written, expertly told story of how Becky adjusts to all the changes in her life, now that she is a Brandon with a sister.
Just like the other books in this series, there will be times that the reader will relate and empathize with Becky but most of al there will be times where the reader will get fed up with Becky's spoiled and Selfish ways. But as always, she learns a valuable lesson and we cannot help but love her a little more in the end.
The story ends with the perfect opening for a fifth book, which this reader is very much looking forward to.
I recommend this book to all the Shopaholic Lovers, you will not be disappointed.
To all of you new to Becky, start with the first book, this series is meant to be read in order. It may take some time to get to this forth book, but it will be worth it!

Di buku ini sempet kesel sama si becky... masa selalu jatuh ke lubang yg sm, dan ga belajar dr pengalaman yg sudah dilaluinya. Lagi2 soal belanja yang ga bisa di rem yang buat dia kena batunya sendiri.
Sehabis pulang bulan madu sm Luke selama 10 bln, hasil nya belanjaanya 2 truk gede....
Kemudian belanja tas Angel yang lg ngetrend dan limited, harus kucing2an dengan Luke krn harganya yg 2000 pounds dan harus menghadapi ex criminal terhadap perusahaan Luke, yg syukurnya pas di akhir buku bisa di selesaikan dengan oke.
Becky cemburu karena Suze punya temen baru bernama Lulu, tapi ternyata Becky selama ini punya seorang kakak perempuan bernama Jess.
Becky sangat antusias dan berusaha mati2an agar mereka berdua cocok. Namun Jess ternyata sangat benci mengeluarkan uang alias foya2 dan berbelanja, termasuk make up. Bagaimana cara Becky agar bisa akrab dengan Jess. :D
Ada adegan yg bikin aku terharu pas di atas gunung itu :P

So far this is my favorite Shopaholic book. Becky learns some hard lessons here and I found myself totally entertained and touched at the relationship developments she experiences with her husband, Luke, her sister, Jess, her best friend, Suze, and even her parents.

Kinsella gives meaning (other than a superficial one) to Becky in this novel - readers see her take a stand, develop, grow, and transform. While I'm sure the next installment will surely have Becky up to some of her old tricks, it was a welcome diversion to see her in another light.

This time Becky is trying to hide her purchases from her husband, discovers selling (and buyin!) on eBay, and learns she has a sister.
With her eternal optimism, you can't help but like Becky. Even though you know she'll get herself right back into debt as soon as she's been bailed out.
There's just too much shopping out there!
But she's lovable and the books are quick fun reads.
