Bedtime story illustrated in black and white and occasionally gold. Short text and small details that would appeal to young children.
The artwork reminds me of Wanda Gàg illustrations.

I really liked this one. A book with a cumulative pattern and awesome pictures.

This is an adorably illustrated book using black, white, grey, and yellow to give a sense of night lit by the brightness of home. Told in few and simple words, the story still stirs the imagination while reminding the reader of the calm that comes from being tucked in at home at night.

I'm a sucker for this style of illustrations - it feels cozy and old-timey and perfect for a bedtime story, and it works well with the patterned structure of the story. I like the use of limited colors, so that the yellowy-orange really glows in the pictures and the text.

Hauntingly poetic story, appealing scratchboard illustrations with golden touches. A fine quieting-down book for storytime or bedtime reading
