There's a bit of the miscommunication trope in this book, but it spans more from their respective insecurities. I love how they both respect each other and each other's knowledge and skills. N'dek trusts Devi and wants to learn to become a better lover and prepared. This matches to Devi's curious nature and in spite of being the outcast due to her "odd obsession" with the animals and biological life of Not-Hoth, she very much does want to have what the others want when it comes to love.

I adored Devi and N’dek. This might be my favourite pairing so far.

Most probably my favourite pair from the whole Icehome series (and possible from IPB too). I loved both Devi and N'dek, their story and relationship that was relatively slow compared to other couples in the series. Devi is clever and looks on the Not-Hoth in her own exciting way, keeping it real throughout the whole thing and it was refreshing to read from a perspective that is more occupied with the anatomy of the creatures living on the planet than the anatomy of the blue guys which we all already know about quite a lot. N'dek was also a great character to read about because he is more reserved and while he was a bit clueless in certain aspects of the story, he was ah-mazing by the end. More characters like this, please.

I enjoyed this book. I thought there was going to be more of a competition between Bridget and Devi for N'dek's affection, but I think I'm glad there wasn't. Can't wait for the next one!
