Turgid is the word which comes to mind, slow pedestrian, only really gets going in the last 100 pages, not for me im afraid.

meh . . . another crime novel (this one rather bloody and gory) from a Scandinavian author
nothing to write home to mom about . . . in fact, mom probably wouldn't care for it (too much sex and violence)
nothing really special here but still entertaining

“Did you know that darkness has a taste?”
Beware of the snowman in your front yard. It may not be as innocent as it seems!
Well, the snowmen in this book are not. Or rather the person who makes them.
A well written, suspenseful and atmospheric novel, with morbid storyline, abundant suspects and ample twists and turns.
This is my second Jo Nesbo, the 7th in Harry Hole series and definitely not my last.

Probably the best Jo Nesbo book I’ve read to date. Suspenseful and with some good twists that didn’t seem thrown in there just to confuse the reader.
Plus, in this book we finally don’t have a extended scene of Harry Hole spending two to three days in a drunken stupor. The first few books in the Hole series always seemed to have the character take a diversion like that. Having the character struggling with, but winning his battle with alcohol makes him a more appealing character.
