Really enjoyed Hungry Bones by Sara E. Johnson. Alexa Glock's character is both fierce and loveable, and the book includes historical and contemporary mysteries that are suspenseful and have scientific interest. The prominence of forensic science was educational and compelling. I appreciated the setting in New Zealand and learning about the history of Chinese miners there.
