This is a fantastic book.

Richie explores so many themes with an incredible authenticity. The book delves into family dynamics and his love for his mum particularly is evident. He also shares his life experiences authentically with regard to sport, career, relationships, addiction, physical and mental health, psychotherapy, sexuality and sexual abuse.

He also sprinkles in some fun anecdotes about his Irish soccer peers, such as Roy Keane, Mick McCarthy and Brian Kerr. As a soccer fan I thorougly enjoyed these parts of the book.

Richie is modest, articulate and well informed. He shares his story with an honesty and vulnerability that wowed me. I genuinely have newfound respect for him after reading his book.

I listened to the audiobook and it's very well performed by Aidan Kelly, who even sounds a bit like Richie. This was a compelling and thought-provoking read. Highly recommend.

A well-written, frank, reflective and thought-provoking account of the author's journey through his career and subsequent alcohol dependency.
