This book was a page turner I had trouble putting down. It has been a while since I have felt that with a new author. One thing I gotta say about this book though is in my opinion this book is for those readers who are 18 or older. Also those who don't mind intimate details on sex between couples. I will continue with the series. The one thing I am not sure about is whether or not I will like that this series seems to follow a different couple each book. Look forward to continue the series and find out if it keeps me as enthralled.

Another book in the no-not-for-me category, this time for the heroine's agency being taken away. The whole barb thing was very interesting, though. ~eye waggle~

I liked it because of all the sex lol it was straight up pwp in my opinion. LMFAO. The heroine was a wannabe badass and the hero was just an idiotic mess imo. But man if you took a shot every time you saw the word cunt and juices and cock appeared lol alcohol poisoning.

Merinus is a reporter sent to offer lion breed Callan a deal that will expose him to the media but hopefully set him free from the people continuously hunting him in order to return him to the lab where he was created. Merinus is strangely drawn to Callan and once they meet they soon both discover they are trapped in some kind of mating fever. Merinus tries to fight the hormones raging inside her and escape. She fails and then various people attack them.

The story itself is pretty thin. The plot could be summarised in a few pages, but the hot bits are mighty hot and plentiful. The PRONG! Jeez, the pleasure prong is the stuff of dreams.

My only gripe with this book was some of the language. There’s cream and juice everywhere. I thought the poor girl would dissolve she leaked so much. I also thought she might explode with all the swelling. At one point she herself says her nipples might explode. Nice visual! And don’t get me started on the womb references. 16 of them! It clenches, spasms, weeps... all sorts! I don’t think I have ever felt my womb, even when I gave birth!

And the constant use of ‘penis’ and ‘vagina’ made it all feel a bit like an anatomy lesson.

But the prong!

I've read some other things in this world that were written later, and liked them, so I thought I'd give this a shot. It was not bad, but not great either, and I really didn't like the force-her-and-make-her-like-it scene. It really shows as a book where she's getting to know the world and the rules she's setting, and the characters are a bit inconsistent. I will read more in the series, but maybe I'll stick to the later books.
