This volume really showcases what Lenalee goes through and how tough she is. Go Lenalee! She really is the focus of this novel, she is trying to protect her friends and her innocence evolves with it, I enjoyed how the whole team came together and really sad.

Anita and Mahoja whyyyyy!!!

Also Cross came on for like a page spread. That was neat.

Volume 8 advances the plot as Lenalee takes on a sinister Level Three Akuma. Epic fighting sequences, tragedy, humour and heartbreak - I can't get enough of this series!

I felt like we didn’t get a whole lot of Allen in this volume which, I understand needed to happen to move the plot forward, but I’m ultimately not a Lanali fan (I much prefer Miranda, much more interesting and fun character to read). I'm glad we are finally reaching Japan though - Cross is such an facinating agent of chaos.

Another heartwrenching volume with a lot of sorrow in it. I hate but love at the same time how the author able to make me as a reader feels the sadness, sorrow, the sacrifices of the side characters (like it just a minor character who have a less important roles), but manages to make me feel their sincere feelings, their sacrifice and each of their dead have their weight. Oh gosh its so heavy, A LOT of people died. Ugly crying again because they were such a precious people.

This volumes centers around Lenalee fight, I adore her so much. I love her anti akuma weapon, but she really DOES pushed herself too much in this like Allen in previous volume. We can see she hold so much feelings to herself that she didn't even express it to anyone, not even her brother. That is so sad ngl.

P/s: I just remember General Cross can alter akuma, the golemns caught me off guard a little bit but he's so cutee.

This volume centers primarily around Lenalee and her fight with the level 3 akuma. I adore Lenalee and always have. This is probably one of my favorite fights in the entire series, both anime and manga, so far. Let it be known I've watched the entire anime and have read up through volume 27. I read this volume a few years ago, though I had seen the anime episodes several years back. I don't know why I didn't buy this volume sooner honestly.

While I still adore Hoshino's newer art style in the more recent volumes, I really loved her original gothic art style in these older ones. This is probably also one of the only times we get to see Lenalee fight for more than a few pages, which I greatly enjoyed, especially since I love her anti-akuma weapon. I guess I'm biased since I'm one of the few people who love her character, so take my review with a grain of salt if you're not a Lenalee fan. This volume is mostly about her battle with the level 3 akuma with a dive into her personal feelings about certain matters. We do get to see what happens with Anita and the crew at the end and there is some stuff with Allen and his situation at the beginning, though.

This volume is one long fight and it's both badass and heartbreaking to watch. Bring on volume 9!

Thid was a fast paced volume that did well to develop the side characters, especially Lenalee. As this showed how tough she was and how strong her will was as it showes her not giving up once in the fight.
Yet I found the cut to Allen and how he was well drawn and showed how mich qol of this was taking a toll on him. Yet showing that his eye keeping him awake by causing him pain was contributing to all of this.
