Tw: cancer, death of a family member
The side characters are so vibrant and adorable. I loved all of them. The family dynamics are top tier and so relatable!
Pop cultural references, but I didn’t mind.
The spice was there, but it was more liked a cracked door into the on page romance rather than open door. Things get hot and heavy, but the sex itself is off page.
As someone who only speaks English, the use of Spanish was a lot, but not overwhelming due to the wonderful way that it was used and expressed throughout the book. It lent such a rich texture to the family and story.
I adored this book so dang much!

Then the ending… The third act break up was awful. These two have a LOT of problems to work through individually and together if the way they talked to each other was any indication. The MMC’s fear of letting anyone close and his hurtful way of pushing Camila away over and over made him an unlikable main character for me. I like when book boyfriends are able to admit that they’re in love. In the author forgot to address the fight Camilla had with her friend before the end of the book.
I’m definitely going to read the next in the series, and even though I loved the narrator, I might have to read the ebook this time so I can look up translations.

I'm going to savor you like one of my whiskeys, and I'm not going to stop until I'm drunk on you
I loved this! It took me a little while to get into it cos it's 3rd person which I struggle with but I quickly flew through it, I was so invested
I'm a sucker for best friends to lovers and this didn't disappoint!! The yearning in this was so good and it wasn't like an 'i can't make a move incase I mess this up' kinda friends to lovers which does get annoying if it's dragged out for ages but as they already had a fractured relationship it didn't have that plot line
I'm normally a third act break up hater but the way in which all the drama went down, I was living for it. I was shocked and it was kinda funny. As most 3rd act break ups it was really what both the MCs needed to sort their lives out and have those important conversations that they needed with their families
- childhood best friends to ??? to lovers (they didn't speak for a long time in the middle, idk if you can call it strangers when they still lived/worked next door to each other but yea)
- fake engagement (set up by their scheming Granddad's)
- forced proximity
- only one bed
- 3rd person
