Nash and Brianna bring the extreme heat with their enemies to lovers and their insane chemistry. I enjoyed seeing this side of Nash, the alpha, dirty talking, fun side. When he’s around Hurricane and Bayou at the club, he exudes this superiority that I didn’t like, but this book made him more personable. He and Brianna lit the page’s up, but their communication was horrible. I like how the supporting characters weee pivotal in the story and Lucas…he’s going to be something else I can already see it. If you’ve loved NOLA Defiance, you’ll enjoy Hostile Hearts, and even if you haven’t read Defiance Nash and Brianna are definitely going to give you a good read.

The characters are unrealistic. No one talks the way they do. Nash is so unprofessional for a CEO. He sounds like a whiny baby and not an "alpha male" or whatever he's going for.

KE Osborne is fastly becoming a favorite of mine. I have loved the Defiance MC series that takes place in New Orleans. Hostile Hearts is a spin-off of that series focusing on Nash. We got the background/lead into this story in the book Isolate. Nash is a venture capitalist; he helps people with money make more money. Yeah, one of those. His father (the world's largest and most offensive a$$h0le) left him, his mother, and his sister for another family when Nash was young. That abandonment left him trying unsuccessfully to earn his father's approval and love. Nash's mother married into the Defiance MC, and Nash has stepbrothers who run the club. They had his back when his father did not. This was an awakening for Nash that led him to start his own business, and he is proving to be just as ruthless as his father. However, Nash has a moral compass in the person of his mother and sister. Nash is making a bold move to establish himself and his firm in the NOLA area, and he needs event planner Brianna Cox to do that. From there, we get FIRE ❤️‍

Hostile Hearts follows billionaire Nash Harrington as he navigates his life as he starts his company away from his toxic father. Brianna is an independent business owner and when Nash hires her on to help with an event, magic happens!

KE Osborn is a new to me author. I thought this story was OK. I despise a miscommunication trope and that’s what this story is. But let’s start off, what I like about this book.

First, I did enjoy the authors writing. She was able to keep me engaged, the story had a nice flow, and each character had a part not just as a filler throughout the book.

Second, Nash. He knows he has issues. He know what he needs to do overcome those issues. He is strong, yet admits when he is weak. Love his character!

Here is what I didn’t like:

One, as I mentioned above the miscommunication trope. It was all over the book and drove me nuts! I feel like the miscommunication trope is used when there is no imaginative plan for the story. Yes, I know that’s harsh and honestly that’s not my intent here, but just an opinion.

Second, Brianna. Her character started off strong. I love an independent, entrepreneur, FMC. However, she went downhill fast for me. Her mind changed every 5 seconds causing my whiplash. She knew what she wanted but then 5 seconds later she hears something and her mind was changed. these are follower traits not independent businesswomen she is in the book.

Third, too many villains in the kitchen. There needed to be one concise villain. I feel that if there was one villain it would have been a better story. I would have loved to have more villain-y scenes with the dad. There could have been so much more content I feel like.

Overall, this was a quick read and I thought it was OK.
