this was one of the more emotionally difficult Agatha Christie mysteries to get thru for me so far, but I'm glad I stuck with it! I enjoy Christie's writing overall, but it's hard to enjoy all of her work knowing both her social positions and how those positions often get reflected in her writing. more than in her other work I felt as though the victim was spoken down upon, even/especially by seemingly more sympathetic characters.

I find it astonishing that Miss Marple remains a side character in a series named after her, but despite this the book was fantastic! I love how Agatha Christie makes you seriously think and consider every single little comment or detail in attempt to solve the murder, while blowing you away with the reveal. I love how frank and cynical Miss Marple is while still being genuine and considerate.  She seems a uniquely kind and perceptive detective and I can’t wait to see what mystery she gets involved in next.
