This story was honestly one I enjoyed. The content was really tragic, but I loved Melody. I felt for her. The dam of her repressed memories flooding back not all at once, but trickles and bits get released with the odd chance of her being chosen out of the audience by the hypnotist. It's not what she asked for, but it's filling in the gaps in time, she never thought she would come to know. What a whirlwind of information to process and piece together! Really good book!

The romance felt so out of place. If I was commuting to work and a stranger told me I had sexy shoulders I would not be pursuing them. Was it necessary to add her childhood trauma included living at a sex commune? For me, it’s a no

Love anything by Jewell & this was no exception. Coming of age, dual timeline, really enjoyable!

A nice story with a fulfilling ending. I found it hard to get into at first but then it gradually got more interesting once her memories started coming back fully. Obviously it's a sad story also but it was necessary to the story.

I found it interesting how the flashbacks to Ken in Broadstairs were similar to Lisa Jewells future thrillers of "The Family Upstairs" books. Thought maybe this is where she got her inspiration from.

Saying this, I do prefer Jewells later books in the thriller categories!
