it had potential. it started off good. it was not a mystery at all, it was more like a soap opera. the characters were unlikeable and whiny, and there was hardly any character development. the author didn’t reveal everything until the last few chapters, and then that’s it. it was very predicable. also i could not get over the incest. eewwwwww!
the cousins thing was weird enough, and they were already raised as siblings, so when they turned out to be actual siblings! and they didn’t even care! disgusting. could not get over it. i can’t

The book was written really well, but it was a tough read. Sylvie is severely emotionally abused, and it made it hard to read the book for long stretches at a time. Sylvie's romantic feelings for
Lukas
also made me uncomfortable.
