ES:

Bueno, pues aquí ando llorando como una magdalena. Sin palabras. Una obra tan certera en sus mensajes como compleja. Creo que es la tragedia más difícil a la que me he enfrentado pero también la más rica. Y a nivel actoral presenta muchísimos retos.

Sin palabras.

Formato: Obra de teatro grabada prestada en formato digital de la Teatroteca.

Reseña (Sin spoilers): Pronto.

EN:

I am speechless.
I wanted to read this play since it appeared in 'If we were villains' but I never had the chance to read it. Probably it is not the chance what I lacked of but the courage. I had my doubts when I decided to make 'King Lear' my next Shakespeare´s play of one-sitting reading. I knew for certain that symbolism and the complexity of it would make this play, probably, a challenge. And I was right...it is the most difficult tragedy I have faced. It has been a challenge...but it was so worthy.

Format: Digital recording of a play performed live (borrowed from Teatroteca)

Yet another required reading.

King Lear by William Shakespeare is one of the most iconic of his plays. I don’t think that I can concisely describe the plot because a lot happens over the course of the five acts in this tragedy, so I’m simply not going to try. There is a good amount of scheming, lots of fantastic insults, and death. I’m not going to lie, I was kind of confused for a good portion of this play (I definitely needed to draw myself a character map to track everything), so it took me a hot minute to get through, but I thought it was fine nonetheless. While it was not my favorite of Shakespeare’s works (since A Midsummer Night’s Dream has my heart), this was pretty solid.
