Nightmare

I was a bit hesitant about this book based on the ending of the previous book; however, I was quickly drawn into the story and soon found it hard to put down.

I really enjoyed the character growth I saw in this story. And I liked seeing some of my favorite characters from the previous book (Darius and Stardust) as well as meeting another character I loved (Shade).

I look forward to reading the next book.

Review:

Wow! This was such an awesome addition to The Dream World Chronicles! I’m loving all the new information being presented about Eden’s powers and the darkness looming. I loved Shade’s (a new character) personality and what she brought into this story. I loved how she and Stardust conspired together a bit and how Eden didn’t quite suspect it until they already achieved their goals. I loved how real all of Eden’s thoughts and feelings were and how it affected my thoughts on what would happen. I also really liked how not only this book showed how loyal Eden was and that she had fears, but how both of these affected her choices when she had to make a decision. I even liked Blaze and Trinity a bit when they softened towards Eden at times throughout the story.

Summary:

Eden is no longer welcome in the Dream Realm after being wrongfully accused of a crime. Instead, she has to go and live in the Nightmare Realm, a place much different from the light and beautiful place Eden considered to be home. The Nightmare Realm is as dark and creepy as the name suggests, and it brings Eden down to live in such a place. Especially with her mother insisting that she change things about herself to better acclimate to her new home. With each new change, Eden finds herself losing the person she was, despite the constant reassurances from her only remaining friend that it is all temporary.

Things only get worse as Eden begins seeing more of Darius, the man she believes to have betrayed her as well as the man she loved, around the realm. And when a new friend begins spending time with both her and him, Eden finds herself even more conflicted about the man she hoped to be her Pair. Eden wants to believe that they are Paired and that he’d never do anything to hurt her, but with her belief of his involvement in her banishment and knowledge of this relationship with her new friend, Eden just can’t find the hope she wishes for.

Will Eden succumb to the darkness around her or choose to be a light in a dark place despite everything turning against her?
