I think it's so important to remember a book like this is her experience of God speaking to her and is not meant to be divine law for all, but there were some helpful things and some encouraging moments.

I really enjoy Priscilla Shirer's books, her personality, and how she approaches everything.
I tried to read this in tandem with the small group study of the same title. Speed bumps came along in our group study and we ended up stalling out on it, and I ended up reading this book in bits and pieces alongside (many) other books.
It took me 2 months to finish this book, which, clocking in at just over 200 pages, is not very good for me when I can knock out that much in a day or two at most with a novel! Though, in my sort-of defense, the material is serious and requires of me a lot of thought, consideration, and careful reading. I did get a lot of insights during my first read of this book, but I neglected to give it the needed attention and focus due such "heavy" and thoughtful material. I'm sure I will get even more out of it when I revisit it (Priscilla's books are keepers!) and give it that deserved attention and focus. I also found the audio version on Hoopla, so I will probably listen to it on audio before I reread the printed book.

I love how conversational and personal Priscilla Shirer is in this book. A great read: challenging, insightful, and practical.

This book is phenomenal. You just can't go wrong with Priscilla Shirer. My biggest takeaway was that God accepts full responsibility for speaking to us; we don't have to nag Him into communicating with us. However, it's our responsibility to listen and obey. God speaks to be obeyed, not just to be heard. It seems elementary, but because it's completely contrary to our sinful human nature, it's revolutionary. But that's our God - revolutionary love.
