Margaret Dashwood has always been one of my favourite minor characters from the Jane Austen books and I searched long and hard to get my hands on a copy of this book. Unfortunately it is completely out of print and so it is probably going to stay obscure.
This novel continues the story of the Dashwood family about 5 years on from where Sense and Sensibility finished off. Margaret is now of marriageable age and while she feels she should be allowed to make her own choices her friends and family are determined to interfere (see what I did there) with her plans. The book is packed full of dashing young men, meddling women and plenty of dry wit.
Mr Willoughby even pops in to stir the pot, I think overall this is a book that Jane Austen would get behind.
