Things I loved include further character development. Lots of love happening and before you know it the population of Virgin River will have doubled!

One thing that just bothered me on a personal level is how the midwife character would be all for hooking up a minor child with birth control and no parental involvement. I get the idea of safe sex, but not when hormones are introduced which alter your body and can have repercussions and neither parent has a clue.

What I read: Second Chance Pass by Robyn Carr

Why I picked it up: I’m working my way through the Virgin River series!

How I read it: On paper over a couple of days.

What it’s about: So many things happen in this book, babies born, couples getting together, tragedies occur! It’s an entire series of events.

What I liked: I appreciated how many stories were told, and how many of these characters we’ve been introduced to before came up here again.

What I disliked: The incident with Nicki was so odd and randomly tragic. It didn’t need to be and then everyone else jumped to the worst conclusions of Paul.

Genre: Small town, open door, grief, Virgin River.

Rating & Recommendation: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and yes, but I think you might need the others in the series for this one to make sense.

Least favorite one in the series so far. Vanessa was not my cup of tea and I felt like Paul deserved more (in many different ways, actually).

I also felt like the rushing of new relationships (spoiler>Walt and the actress, Joe and Nikki, and I would bet $100 that Terri and the pediatrician come out of left field) was a bit much. This book didn't focus on the main characters as much as the previous ones, but maybe that was a positive because, again, Vanessa.

Paul and Vanni! I was pretty frustrated with this one at first. But as things cleared up for the 2 of them- it got so good. As always- the other relationships were fantastic, I especially enjoyed Joe and Nikki... I do hope that we get some more of the 2 of them in following books. So much happened in this one that I can't touch on all of it. Still love Virgin River....really enjoying this series.

Like the message that marrying should only be because you love someone so much you can't stop yourself.

I have found a couple romance series that I have dragged me in like I think soaps drag others in - familiar characters where you get caught up in their stories.

Paul has been in love with his best friend's wife, he actually pointed her out to him. Now his best friend is dead and he has helped deliver his baby; but that is only the start of his problems. A new romance is begun, and previous characters have life threatening problems.
