My only complaint about this book, was that it was way too short!

I truly enjoyed this short story full of romance, suspense, and faith elements. Regardless of the length of the story itself, I was kept guessing until the very last page. Bain and Leia are faced with real life challenges that will have you on edge in the best way possible.

Read: December 2024
Series: Aloha Reef, 4.5
Format: audiobook borrow from Everand but I own the Christmas collection Kindle e-Book
Narrator: Devon O'Day (not a fan, too blasé)
Book #149 of 2024: I've read most everything that Colleen Coble has written. The Aloha Reef series is the one series that I didn't continue after the first book. It just didn't click for me. This Christmas novella associated with that series is the same. I do love that one of the minor characters has Down Syndrome because I have a heart for Down's kids and adults.

An okay read. The mystery was interesting but I didn’t care at all for how Bane was so judgemental over the way Leila acted. Now I have to confess, I haven’t read any of the other books in this series so maybe I would feel differently if I knew more of Bane’s history but he just came across so harsh in the way acted and that bothered me. It’s a quick easy Christmas read and the mystery kept me reading to see how it would all turn out. I may or may not try the other books in this series, we will see.
