A beautiful and harrowing book. Both characters are very relatable and though both are far from perfect you feel great sympathy for them as the novel progresses.

Soooo good. It’s a little like When Harry Met Sally, but with characters that are both a little more flawed and a little more relatable, and the whole story is better for it. It’s an emotional roller coaster but definitely worth the ride!

Saw the movie before I read the book so I was spoiled on some of the plot twists, but it was still emotional even knowing what was coming. So many books end with a happy ending so its always refreshing when the author takes a different approach to the story even if it's not necessarily the ending we WANT.

As is the nature with long books, there is so much to say about One Day. When you read about a character for so long, you end up having a sort of connection and longing for them.

I started off not enjoying this book at all, Dexter was such an annoying and unlikable character, which was super odd considering that this is supposedly a romance book. Emma seems to have no personality outside of liking Dexter either (my biggest gripe with this book ugh!). But as the story continued, I started to hope for good things to happen to him, and her, and them. However, I do feel that if their characters were better developed, the book would have been more impactful for me. But goodness me, did the latter half of this book have me shocked.
