An easy read. Maybe good for someone who wants a thriller but nothing too heavy.

I read this was part of the 52 Book club. Absolutely not my normal genre.

It was so trashy and so cheesy, and I rolled my eyes so many times throughout the book. Each character has their own back story, and that story was laid on with a trowel to point out their food/bad points.  Every character sat in their own clichéd trope..... Yet I still didn't see the twist coming!

If this is your genre. I think you'll love it. I surprised myself by really enjoying it. I like that there's a mixture of main female characters. It's also great to see peri-menopausal women displayed as strong, capable and kick-ass! I really really warmed to characters, and I'd definitely read another in the bar girls detective agency series.

Perfect holiday reading!

Lighthearted detective mystery novel while still being funny. Love the characters.

This cozy, humorous murder mystery, which takes place in a quaint seaside town, was fantastic. The shocking death of what might be the worst ex-husband in history serves as the focal point of the narrative and kicks off an exciting series of events.

The possibility of the ex-wife being wrongfully convicted for a crime she didn’t commit terrifies her. She is innocent. Fortunately, she has the unshakeable support of three devoted friends who gather to ferret the facts and identify the real murderer.

Their tenacity, wit, and companionship make for a captivating and suspenseful read. I had trouble putting this book down!

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for allowing me to read and review this ARC.

While from 1st glance you might suspect this book is about heartbreak and grieving over a past relationship, this book actually centres around female friendships and motherly love.
As the three women uncover a murder mystery it strengthens and reiterates their bond.
My favourite quote from this book has to be: “a strong hand. A hand that would never let her go”.
I found this book heartwarming and a nice cosy easy to read murder mystery, I preferred reading from Ambers point of view personally because I found her to be the most interesting.

Although the characters are written to be lovable and quirky, I mostly found them to be shrill and annoying. The structure of the book was interesting, splitting the action between following the three leads and chronicling the last day of the murder victim. But everyone acted in hard to believe over dramatic ways.
