This is badged as a cosy mystery and I really enjoyed it for exactly what it was. I have enjoyed Katie Marsh’s writing in her romance novels and equally enjoyed it here. I did guess who the killer was but it didn’t make me enjoy the book any less.

I moved onto this straight after finishing The Cat Who Caught a Killer, and it was an absolute breath of fresh air. I was hooked pretty early on! It kept me guessing right up until the last few chapters when the pieces started to fall into place to reveal the killer, someone who wasn't even on my radar until then! I loved all the main characters - except Gary, screw him - I found I related to Clio, Jeanie and Amber in different ways. I will say that there were a few too many characters to keep up with which is the only reason I've given 4 stars instead of 5. Overall though I really enjoyed it, every time I read a couple of chapters in my breaks at work I couldn't wait to get back for more, and I finished the final third of the book in one evening on my day off! I'll definitely be reading book number 2 to see what the Bad Girls Detective Agency get up to next!

I've just recently finished a book that I should've DNF'ed after reading the first sentence. I kept on going and kept ignoring the signs I would hate it. The same is happening to me while reading this book, and I'm choosing to pay attention to those signs that are telling me this is not my type of book.
