Truly one of the greatest horror stories of all time and a masterful use of the Nothing is Scarier trope. Unfortunately, as others have noted, it does have some very misogynistic overtones and could really use a good deconstruction or perspective flip. It's public domain, so fair game.

Sogar für das Genre und die Zeit echt frauenverachtend (und das heißt was). Mir fehlte auch die poetische oder atmosphärische Sprache, die es vielleicht rausgerissen hätte. Konzept fand ich jetzt auch... nicht gut (Frau wird von Dämon vergewaltigt, dann für verrückt erklärt und die Tochter von beiden ist ein... Alien, mit dezent homoerotischen Tendenzen, was Kinder erschreckt? Ne, lass Mal).

Kann sein, dass es "ground breaking SF/Horror" war, aber das gilt für andere Werke auch und da gibt es für Besseres. Das einzig Gute, was mir jetzt einfällt und weshalb es nicht Sterne gibt, ist, dass es jetzt nicht furchtbar zu lesen war oder so (also sprachlich. Inhaltlich war es furchtbar).
