I read JD Robb mysteries for the futurism, gritty, what-might-the-world-look-like-in-40-years escapism I’ve come to expect. There’s also the witty banter, the familiar cast of characters, the usual setup, etc. etc. etc. However… did I just read the same book as the last one she wrote? Nora Roberts cannot possibly be running out of ideas or forgetting to send her books to an editor. Amirite? Or, am I wrong? Help…

While I love this series, this book was a tough one to read as it involved child sex trafficking. So major trigger warning. I normally read one of these books in a couple of hours, but I had to keep putting this one down and focusing on something lighter. Still love Eve though.

Classic Dallas. Again, not just the murder but a conspiracy. But it was good as usual. Nothing crazy twisty, but classic kicking ass and taking down the bad guys while rescuing a ton of kids. I like that there was less side stuff, which kept the plot chugging along nicely, but we still got the check in with all our main side cast, which keeps growing.

Looking forward to #56
