I think I did really like it but I’m still trying to make sense of the ending? I understand the reading of this as satire and quite liked meeting the caricatures that were the other pretentious writers.

conflicted between 2.5 & 3. It started off strong and I actually really enjoyed it up until pg 80-ish. I had seen that it was similar to Ottessa (not true…) so yh disappointing but not the worst read. I mostly didnt like the political statements in it, and also felt the plot hardly progressed.

this was really bizarre. so bizarre, that by the time i read the end it seemed totally plausible and very much made sense.
the language of this was coarse and jagged on the edges. it’s about the main character understanding and rationalising the events in her life whilst she attends a writers conference in sweden.
i couldn’t put this read down. was mostly just dark, elusive, and bizarre.
felt like a very lucid read. the first half was excellent, the second half got a tad ranty though.
…
“she loved flying. as the fuselage rose, her thoughts were free to roam the spongy terrain of clouds. she liked the feeling of being trapped in an ocean of air, unreachable, left to her own electronic devices, imprisoned and free at the same time.”
“not reading emails, in the heart of silicon valley, was tantamount to declaring oneself dead.”
