I saw this book at work, (I work in a public library) and I had to sit down and read it. Luckily, I was behind a shelving unit so no one could see me tearing up and getting emotional. I loved this book because I would love to know my little dogs are doing the things these pets were doing in the book. I loved the illustrations and that the pets were playing with each other and people who were angels. So beautiful.

This is written for anyone who has lost a family member of the animal persuasion. Stunning illustrations capture the text and deliver a message of love and comfort. The bright colors lend to careful observation while the story line evokes pure and tender emotion. A must read for all ages.

A lovely heartfelt message about pets in heaven, illustrations are a little odd and the poem does not always work but it has a place for people who need this reassurance.

This is a re-read for me. I picked this book up and read it about a week before I got the interview at the library. How strange is that?
Tillman is a remarkable authour/illustrator.

“With all of my heart, I believe it is true that there is a heaven for animals, too.”

Nancy Tillman is truly just one of the best. I know this is targeted to be a children’s book about the processing of the loss of a pet, and the grief they follows, but it was exactly what my heart needed. The ending made me misty-eyed and brought my dog mom heart so much comfort. I highly recommend for anyone who has endured the loss of a furry loved one, as there are multiple kinds of pets mentioned.

Losing a pet is always heartbreaking. This beautifully written poem tells a story about Heaven, a magical place where all pets and animals live on after they leave us. A lovely, comforting story with colourful illustrations that can help any reader grieving the loss of their pet.
