I read this a long time after the first, which I rated high, but I was pretty confused and the punch-fight was a little tiresome. I will be handing these few volumes I own over to my lil nephew and they will prolly blow his mind. They’re action packed, but I think just not for me.

Again, I feel like if I were like 12 years younger, I would think this series was amazing. I like that we are getting more female characters, but I wished they seemed to matter and that that Mineta guy wasn't a complete creep? (I've heard he gets worse on TikTok).

Anyway, this volume kicks off as the kids get costumes and start training more to use their Quirks. A lot of the names for things are very vague and it makes me wonder if that's just a product of translating the series to English? We have heroes called "heroes" and villains called "villains" and I'm not sure the significance of Midoriya's attacks having U.S. states in them? Like Delaware Smash?

I'm curious to see what the next volume is like. The girl that controls sound is my favorite so far.

I had to reread the first volume after dropping it halfway through, but after volume two? Okay, I'm sold.

Very fun, very cute, definitely a lot easier to keep track of all the different characters as it goes on

Fun story and very much about teenagers! As an adult, it was hard for me to connect at times for that reason. The story follows Midoriya into more classes at the hero academy. It further explores how All Might is beginning to decline in strength and the student's training is put to the test when villains plan a attack. You get to know more characters in this book. I personally liked IDA who steps up in to the role of student class president and Eraserhead who appears to be an apathetic teacher but also sacrifices everything to protect the students. I genuinely like the story but I'm not sure the series is for me. The fight scenes are hard to follow and there are scenes that are just so 'teen boy' cringy for me to read; for example when a kickass female student who has frog abilities saves Mitoriya's life and his first reaction is that she has nice boobs. Genuine reaction, perhaps. Made me roll my eye, also yes.

Have I watched the season this manga covers three times subbed, once dubbed? Maybe. Was this volume so good that I just spontaneously bought the next three volumes that I don't have yet? Absolutely!(!!)
